Our Mission
Through rigorous research and identification of potential hazards in surfing and ocean recreation, we strive to develop innovative solutions for mitigating risks and create a positive impact in the world of surfing, making it a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Our Vision
Our focus extends beyond individual safety as we work tirelessly on public outreach and education initiatives. Addressing the lack of education and etiquette in overcrowded surfing lineups, we are dedicated to promoting surfing ethics and best practices, ensuring a safer and more responsible ocean community.
Our Story

The CORE Project is a passionate and impactful ocean safety nonprofit organization, born out of a heartbreaking experience where our founder witnessed a dear friend's tragic surfing accident in a remote region of Oaxaca. One of our main goals is empowering surfers and ocean enthusiasts with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively during emergencies.
Friends and loved ones honor the life of Blake Dresner at Moonlight Beach on August 24th, 2020.
In July 2021, we gathered in honor of the life of our beloved friend and local icon - Blake Dresner - to celebrate his birthday and bring awareness to ocean safety.
Proceeds raised during the event will help engage global surf communities in ocean safety and emergency medical response.
